French Video Promo Kit
This is one of the most awesome things in my whole Matrix collection.
This promo kit was given to the media in France to promote the DVD and VHS release of
"The Matrix" in 2000. One of the more interesting promo kits, contained is a copy of the
VHS release (in SECAM format), the paper sleeve for the VHS (the type that gets slipped into a clamshell case), a die-cut envelope with a tri-fold brochure, and an
hourglass with blue sand.
It all comes packaged in a box with a picture of the 3 Agents on it.
The box (dimensions
are 8 3/4" wide by 12 1/8" tall
by 2 3/8" deep.
The coolest thing about
this promo kit...an
hourglass!

VHS copy of the movie

An additional, non-shiny copy
of the VHS insert
(10 3/4" wide by 7 5/8" high).
A shiny black envelope asks us
Qu'est-ce que la Matrice?

The top of the envelope flips up, and contains a tri-fold brochure.
Inside of the trifold brochure, which is made of cardboard.
Unfolded, the brochure is 24 3/4" wide by 11 9/16" high.
Outside of the tri-fold brochure. The front (with the three agents), reads
Oubliez tout ce que vous savez. Oubliez tout ce que vous avez vu.,
which translates to "Forget all that you know. Forget all that you saw."
